How to Make a Wiki Page
A wiki is a collaborative tool that allows multiple users to contribute to a web site without knowing HTML. (Of course, knowing HTML is a big advantage and can allow you to use more advanced formatting and design.) Part of working in corporate libraries and information centers is being able to present information in a web-based environments.
- For a tutorial on how to create a wiki, including how to create and edit pages within a wiki, read Creating Your First Wiki.
- For information on how to create your page page go to 2 easy ways.
- After you create your page, please click on "Edit Page" for this page and list your page under Roberta's page listed above using the (!!) second headline style. Also go to the SideBar page (click here or on the SideBar header on any page) and add your page to the SideBar.
- This is easy, so don't be intimidated! You can use my Roberta Shaffer page as a template!
- Please be creative with your page! Remember, your student page is part of your class participation grade. Be sure to include a section for each assignment and/or make a separate page for each one and link to it from your Student Page. You can upload large writing assignments in Word, PPT or (preferably) PDF format.
- Once you are in edit mode you can upload files by clicking on the "add files" link.
- You can click on the Help button the top right for more details. If you expand the FAQ, you will find answers to many questions, links to the PBWiki Forum where many questions are answered, and video-based tutorials.
- If you want to play around with the wiki style/formatting features before you start your page, go to the SandBox.
